Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I am a perfectionist?

If you feel the need to overachieve or constantly prove yourself, you may be a perfectionist. You may also be a perfectionist if you experience deep shame or fear. Perfectionism can look like: being mean to yourself, never feeling satisfied, needing to be the best, fear of messing up, struggling to take feedback, believing that you are only lovable because of your accomplishments.

I’m a teenager. Could I still take this course even though I’m not an “adult woman” yet?

Absolutely! The fifth module covers how perfectionism can specifically impact wives and mothers, however, there is so much support available here for anyone who struggles with self esteem and doubt.

You could even apply the principles about being a working woman to being a student. If you stay up late studying, struggle to ask for help, or want to be the best student – you’ll find helpful strategies to manage that in the fifth module.

I’m extremely burned out and overwhelmed – I’m not sure how to make time for this course.

You can work through the modules at your own pace. There’s no pressure to finish this course or workbook within a certain time. There’s no right or wrong. However you decide to work through this is excellent. We’ll walk gently beside you on this mental health journey.

I’m scared to let go of my perfectionism because it helps me succeed.

Perfection is a tricky illusion. In the second module, we analyze the real cost and loss of it. If you’re overachieving at work, you might be losing out on quality time with your loved ones. If you’re trying to appear flawless, you might lose your authenticity and find it  harder to connect with people. We’ll dive deeper into this in the course and workbook!

What do you mean when you say you’re a licensed therapist?

I am a licensed mental health services provider, certified eating disorder specialist-supervisor, approved clinical supervisor, and nationally certified counselor. My licenses mean that I am qualified and ready to help you.
